connecting to virtual disk service hangs 2008 r2

One symptom is that the service "Virtual Disk" does not cleanly shut down.
Event Details: The driver detected a controller error on DeviceHarddisk1DR1.
I was just trying to start Disk Management to manage the drives on the computer I was using. There is one post on SE related to this and I tried the suggested answer but I am still having problems.Instead, I got an error message: Disk Management could not start Virtual Disk Service (VDS) on acer.e., the name I had given to my computer.A search for could not start yielded two topics, but they were not relevant.Verified that the services "Virtual Disk "RPC Procedures" and "Plug and Play" are all running.
First: to get into Disk Management, I went to Start coreldraw graphics suite x4 14 keygen.exe Run and typed.
So I have looked everywhere for the solution to this and have tried many things.
We have a server running Server 2008 R2 Standard x64.The service starts and remains gran turismo 5 psp game in started mode, but I am still getting the "Unable to connect to Virtual Disk Service" message when attempting to open Disk Management and this error in the log: -Virtual Disk Service 1 10/31/2011 12:29:43.These messages assumed that I was trying to connect or do something involving a remote computer.Tim Fisher provides more information on how to get there.).I did that by going to Start Run c, but I could also have typed c at any command prompt, or double-clicked on c in the folder where it was installed. On my machine, that was C:WindowsSysWOW64en-US.I went on line to technet, etc.Error code: [email protected], any ideas?
